November 2008: Our new Super Portable NASCAR track is a hit!

February 10th 2008 ~ Nomad was selected to design, install and operate a custom slot car track for an upcoming Mariah Carey music video "Touch my Body" featuring Jack McBrayer as a "Compu-Nerd" technician who fantasizes about romancing Mariah with, among other things... slot cars! Here is a photo of the track set up at the shoot on the 18' long dining room table of a Beverly Hills mansion. Yes, the floor is glass and looks down on the indoor swimming pool on the lower level.

For the fourth year running, Nomad Racing had a booth at the Coronado Classic Speed Festival, on October 6 & 7, 2007. Staged on the runways and taxiways of NAS North Island with Navy aircraft and ships in the background, the Coronado Classic Speed Festival features over 200 of the world’s top racing machines from years gone by competing on a spectator-friendly 1.6 mile course. These vintage racecars are chosen to compete on the basis of their historical significance and certified authenticity. In addition to the racing action, you can tour the pits, Vendor Village, the Meguiar’s Car Club Corral and the New Car Dealers Association Classic Car Collection. Check the amazing list of cars registered,that you can see in racing action. In addition, there were hundreds of great cars on display. PLUS slot car racing! The Nomad booth had a great selection of cars and sets for sale, plus our big Quadrophenia track with races all day. We'll be back in 2008!

July 07: Mike Brannian, three time California State USRA Slot Car Champion has joined the Nomad Crew. In addition to racing at the top levels since the 1960's Mike brings Hobby Industry and manufacturing background to Nomad. If he tells you to "sit", you might feel oddly compelled as he also trains dogs professionally.
Now that Mike Brannian is here to help, we're able to commit to every Wednesday and Every Sunday for racng at the Nomad Race Shop. Check our calendar for details on these and other events.

June 10 - July 4th 2006 We had a booth at the San diego County Fair in DelMar. We made many new "Fast Friends" so we hope to see more of you at races and more tracks adding to our race series very soon.
May 2006 - Nomad delivers a portible slot car track for VW of North America's hospitality suite. the track will be used at the Sundance Film Festival and dozens of other events nation wide. See it here.
March 2006 - Nomad Slot Racing completes new slot car track for the Marconi Automotive Museum. See it here. Nomad Slot Racing brough a track and Fast Fun to the Vista Girls andd Boys CLub booth at the Vista Rod Run. Tickets were sold as a fund raiser for this worth cause and racers copmpeted for gift baskets, tickets to events and much more. One racer became the Grand Prize Winner and won a foursome of golf Directed Electronics Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament La Costa; a prize valued at over $1,400!
